Musashi is excited to announce an expansion to our powertrain product portfolio: the TractionTech Locker™ differential.
TractionTech Locker™ differentials utilize an electromagnetic coil mechanism to deliver absolute tractive effort in next-generation ICE, Hybrid, and electric AWD platforms.
The TractionTech Locker™ provides versatile performance through two distinct modes:
- Open Mode: During normal driving, it operates as a standard open differential, allowing for smooth cornering and handling.
- Locked Mode: An electromagnetic coil engages mechanically to “lock” the system as one singular unit. This bypasses the differential gears entirely, forcing both axle shafts to turn at the same speed. The result is 100% torque delivery to both wheels simultaneously, critical for mud, snow, rough terrains, or any low traction environment.
